of wonderful food, rich memories, and talk of things to come for Save

60th Anniversary Campout - May 5
Join Save the Dunes and Field Museum for a campout on Saturday, May 5th at the Indiana Dunes State Park. We will meet at 4:00 pm at the Group 3 camp site. We will have a night hike led by Laura Milkert of Field Museum and Erin Crofton of Save the Dunes. There will also be a morning bird hike on May 6th. Both hikes are open to those who may not wish to camp. Please bring your own food and drink. Campsites are limited, so please RSVP to Eric Neagu at 773-403-5137 or email ericneagu@gmail.com.
Garlic Mustard Fest and Potluck - May 19
Come on out to Trail Creek Fen on Saturday, May 19th from 9AM to 2PM for the Garlic Mustard Fest and Potluck. We will be hand-pulling garlic mustard and dame’s rocket, and then do a pot-luck luncheon and a hike around the site afterwards. RVSP either at sam@savedunes.org or call the office at 219-879-3937.
Save the Dunes Day Council Ring and Potluck BBQ at Barker House - June 21
On June 21st, 1952, a group of passionate women from Ogden Dunes officially formed Save the Dunes. Starting years before that, dunes lovers were known to gather around a Council Ring fire to talk about their connection to this inspiring landscape. In honor of the tradition of getting together around a common cause and enjoying ourselves, we are hosting a barbecue on Thursday, June 21st at Barker House, 444 Barker Road in Michigan City from 5-8pm. 60th Anniversary Hike and Beach Cleanup - June 16
Please join us a summer interpretive hike and beach cleanup at the Indiana Dunes State Park from 9 AM to 12 PM. This will be led by Mia Goulding, Water Program Specialist, and Erin Crofton, Education Program Director.
*NEW* Save the Dunes 60th Anniversary Celebration Interactive Presentation - June 24
Come and celebrate Save the Dunes' 60th birthday by attending a presentation about the organization's founding in 1952 in Ogden Dunes by resident Dorothy Buell. Find out how the organization has shaped environmental and natural area stewardship in the Lake Michigan Watershed of Northwest Indiana; and learn what to expect from Save the Dunes in the future. Event begins at 4:30 PM on Sunday, June 24th at the Ogden Dunes Community Church.
 Jammin' for the Dunes - September 8
The second annual Jammin' for the Dunes is scheduled for Saturday, September 8th from 4 to 10 PM at Washington Park's Jaycee Stage in Michigan City, Indiana. Additional details will be forthcoming, but get ready for great music and great beer. Click here for more info!
Bartlett's Buckin' Good Beer Fest: A 60th Anniversary Fundraiser - September 16
Beer lovers mark your calendars for Sunday, September 16th, the date of the Bartlett's Buckin Good Beer Fest. This will be the third year we partner with our friends at the amazing Bartlett's Grill in Beverly Shores, Indiana. Over 50 craft beers will be available for tasting, as well as craft cocktails from Rogue Spirits. Lemonade will be available for kids. Gary and Nicole, the incredibly talented chefs behind Bartlett's and Bistro 157 will provide an assortment of great food as always. Tickets will be available for purchase in advance at Bartlett's this Fall. Prices will be $25 in advance or $40 at the door. A portion of the proceeds go to Save the Dunes. 131 E.
