Tree of Life Planned Giving Program
Save the Dunes Conservation Fund is a nonprofit organization working to protect the dunes and surrounding natural areas in Northwest Indiana through conservation, education, research, and legal safeguards.
Tree of Life
Just as a tree must have water, sunlight, and nutrients to grow, Save the Dunes Conservation Fund relies on volunteers, staff, and funding to protect
the dunes and surrounding natural areas of Northwest Indiana.
The Tree of Life Planned Giving Program facilitates the charitable gift giving process so that all supporters have a chance to fulfill their philanthropic goals. Through planning ahead and understanding the options available, supporters can make charitable gifts that not only support Save the Dunes Conservation Fund, but also lead to personal economic benefits. Those who may have thought they would never be able to make a charitable gift, find out that they can!
A charitable gift to Save the Dunes Conservation Fund rewards you with the satisfaction that you are contributing to the health of the environment today and into the future. The gift is 100% tax deductible. Additionally, depending on the type of gift, other benefits include:
- Increased spendable income
- Reduced taxes and/or probate costs
- Creation of a stream of retirement income
Save the Dunes Conservation Fund fulfills a vital role in Northwest Indiana by participating in local environmental protection issues. We are involved at the community level to ensure that the health of local natural resources is considered. The goals of Save the Dunes Conservation Fund are:
Conservation
We work toward the acquisition, restoration, and preservation of land and resources required to preserve the vitality of the Indiana Dunes and surrounding natural ecosystems.
Education
We coordinate and partner in education and volunteer programs that help promote public interest in preservation.
Our Park Elementary Stream Troopers learn to monitor water quality at local streams.
Research
We are active in and supportive of current research in the area. Our bird banding program and vegetation monitoring data contribute to more sound land management practices in the region.
This Solitary Vireo was banded at our Miller Woods Bird Banding Station during the year 2000 Fall Migration.
Protection (legal safeguards)
We monitor and strive for the enforcement of existing laws and regulations affecting Northwest Indiana's natural ecosystems. We do not lobby.
